Executive Summary

Council is asked to recognize the accomplishments of K9 Remy and his handler Officer Mark Allen and retire K9 Remy from service and release him into the care of Officer Allen.

 

Background

K9 Remy served the Blaine community from June 2014 through August 2022. K9 Remy and his handler Officer Mark Allen formed an incredible bond over their eight years of service together.  At one point K9 Remy became gravely ill and Officer Allen slept on the floor of Remy’s kennel at the vet for 75 hours, never leaving his side. K9 Remy made a full recovery and was able to return to full active duty.
