Executive Summary

The City received a petition dated March 16, 2022 from SEQR Blaine LLC, requesting the vacation of the existing drainage and utility easements along the shared lot line and along the northern portion of Lot 2 and Lot 3, Block 1, Cloverleaf Commons; according to the recorded plat thereof, Anoka County, Minnesota, as shown in Exhibit A (attached).

 

Background

The property was originally platted as Lot 2 and Lot 3, Block 1 Cloverleaf Commons. The two properties are being combined into one parcel. The current drainage and utility easements requested for vacation as shown on Exhibit A are no longer needed.  Engineering staff has reviewed the request and is in agreement with the vacation.

WHEREAS, the City Council has received a petition dated the 16th day of May, 2022, requesting vacation of the existing drainage and utility easements along the shared lot line and along the northern portion of Lot 2 and Lot 3, Block 1, Cloverleaf Commons, described as follows;

 

The South 15.00 feet of the North 30.00 feet of said Lots 2 and Lot 3, EXCEPT the West 5.00 feet of said Lot 2 and the East 10.00 feet of said Lot 3.

And
That part of the East 5.00 feet of said Lot 2 and that part of the West 5.00 feet of said Lot 3 lying South of the North 30.00 feet thereof and lying North of the South 10.00 feet thereof

 

and

 

                     WHEREAS, the required public hearing notices were published and mailed, and the public hearing was held on the 6th day of July, 2022, at which time all persons desiring to be heard were given an opportunity to be heard.

 

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Blaine as follows:

 

1.                     The vacation of the existing drainage and utility easements along the shared lot line and along the northern portion of Lot 2 and Lot 3, Block 1, Cloverleaf Commons, as recorded in Anoka County, Minnesota is hereby approved.
