Review Traffic on Cloud Drive
Background
Engineering and Police Department staff continue to field traffic complaints on Cloud Drive between Radisson Road and West Lake Boulevard. A majority of the complaints are concerned with the speed of the traffic on Cloud Drive. Staff has collected data over several years indicating that the 85% speeds are 0-2 miles over the posted speed limit of 30 mph. Listed below are results of the data collected.
Aug 2016 - 85th % = 30MPH
May 2018 - 85th % = 26MPH
June 2018 - 85th % = 31 MPH
July 2021 - 85th % = 31MPH
Aug 2021 - 85th % = 32 MPH
The PD continues to conducted education and enforcement campaigns along the corridor.
Recommendation
Discuss the data and options available to the residents on Cloud Drive. Discuss future traffic control on Cloud Drive. Staff will collect data again in September once school starts to review any changes in traffic. Staff recommends that PD continue to periodically conduct education/enforcement campaigns along this corridor.
