Executive Summary
Council is asked to approve a tobacco and tobacco products license which will allow the applicant to sell cigars online.
Background
Brian Schmittdiel and Angelo Fraboni, partners in Founders Cigar Company LLC, have submitted an application for a tobacco and tobacco products license for Founders Cigar Company located at 9150 Isanti Street NE. The applicants are subletting space in a warehouse located 9150 Isanti Street to store inventory. This license is for online sales only, no retail sales will take place. As the applicants will be subletting space no additional certificate of occupancy will be required as current tenant/owner of the building currently hold a valid certificate. The applicants have met the licensing requirements by completing all necessary forms and paying associated fees.
The Blaine Police Department is conducting a background investigation on both applicants. Issuance of the license is contingent upon background results and current general liability insurance. If approved, the tobacco license will be effective through December 31, 2021.
