Executive Summary
Council is asked to approve the tobacco license. This license will allow the applicant to sell tobacco and tobacco related products.
Background
Tareq Al Ajrami, owner of New Days LLC has submitted an application for a tobacco and tobacco products license for New Days LLC dba New Days Tobacco located at 8550 Lexington Avenue NE, Suite 100. Mr. Al Ajrami owns the building and currently holds a tobacco license for Speedy Gas, 8550 Lexington Avenue NE Suite 120. The applicant has met the licensing requirements by completing all necessary forms and paying associated fees.
The Blaine Police Department has conducted a background investigation on the applicant and found nothing to prohibit issuance of the license. Approval of the tobacco license will be contingent upon a Certificate of Occupancy Walk-Through permit by the Building Inspections Department. If approved, the tobacco license will be effective through December 31, 2021.
