CONSIDERATION FOR CROSSWALK AT HARPERS STREET AND 132^ND AVENUE

Background

 A resident has requested the addition of a crosswalk at Harpers Street and 131^st Avenue/132^nd Avenue.  The resident has stated that there are many residents crossing the street without using the existing crosswalk to get to their private neighborhood pool/clubhouse.   

The trail and sidewalk system in this location was designed to accommodate the future growth of the trail and sidewalk system and the projected vehicular traffic that will be present on these streets upon complete buildout of this neighborhood and the surrounding areas.  At these T-type intersections, we currently install only one crossing on the uncontrolled legs.  

Recommendation

 Review the pedestrian and vehicle movements in the surrounding area.
