APPROVE PURCHASE OF REPAIR COMPONENTS FOR LIFT STATIONS #12 AND #13
Background
Staff has been conducting comprehensive inspections of all our lift stations as we progress through the SCADA upgrade project. As a result of these inspections, lift stations 12 and 13 were found to have severely deteriorated components.
Lift station #12
Pump #1 needs an impeller, wear ring and slide bracket
Pump #2 needs impeller and wear ring.
Total for lift #12 = $19,140
Lift station #13
Pump #2 needs an impeller & wear ring
Pump #1 needs a slide bracket only
Total for lift #13 = $11,770.00
Total for both stations = $30,910.00
This price is for the component parts only. Installation will be completed by staff.
While this is not yet an emergency repair, staff feels that it is vital this rehab occur as soon as possible to reduce the risk of total failure of the station.
Sufficient funds are available in the Sewer Enterprise Fund to accommodate this purchase.
Recommendation
By motion, approve payment of $30,910.00 to W.W. Goetch Associates for repair components to Lift Stations 12 &13.
