AMEND THE AGREEMENT WITH SHORT ELLIOT HENDRICKSON, INC. (SEH) FOR THE BLAINE COMPREHENSIVE SANITARY SEWER PLAN
Background
The City’s Comprehensive Sanitary Sewer Plan is used to address the needs of the City in the areas of trunk sewer extensions, lift stations, force mains, and maintenance. The existing comprehensive plan last updated in 2005. Since that time, considerable development has occurred and significant additions including several trunk lines, lift stations, and force mains have been added to the City’s sanitary sewer system. In order to update the plan to reflect the additions to the sanitary sewer system and provide planning for the 2040 Comprehensive Plan and full buildout of the City. The City contracted with Short Elliot Hendrickson, Inc. (SEH) to prepare the update to our Sanitary Sewer Comprehensive Plan. The sewer plan was prepared and completed in January 2018. The sewer plan was incorporated into the 2040 Comprehensive Plan and sent to the Metropolitan Council for their review and approval. The Metropolitan Council required several revisions to our Sanitary Sewer Comprehensive plan, as such; staff requested SEH to make the corrections to comply. This additional effort extended SEH beyond the amount of their original contract with the city to prepare the Sanitary Sewer Comprehensive Plan. The cost of the additional work is $3,612.93.
Recommendation
By motion, authorize the Mayor and City Manager to sign the amendment to the original Agreement with Short Elliot Hendrickson, Inc. (SEH) for Blaine Comprehensive Sanitary Sewer Plan Update in the amount of $3,612.93.
