Title

UPDATED POLLING PLACE DESIGNATION FOR THE 2019 SPECIAL ELECTION FOR ANOKA COUNTY COMMISSIONER DISTRICT 6

Background

Council adopted Resolution 18-205 designating polling place locations for 2019 as required annually by Statute and in the event of a special election.  Since then Bridgewood Community Church at 11670 Lexington Avenue NE has informed Anoka County staff that they are unable to serve as a polling location for Precinct 3-8 for the Special Election for Anoka County Commissioner District 6 seat.  Council is asked to designate Blaine City Hall as the polling location for Precinct 3-8 for the November 5 Primary Special Election; notice of the new polling location will be sent to every affected household prior to the Primary.  The two other precincts that comprise District 6 in Blaine have been confirmed to serve as polling locations and are 1-7 Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and 1-8 Centennial Senior High Performing Arts Center.

City staff may be bringing forward other polling locations changes for 2020 as well in preparation for the Presidential Primary in March.
