APPROVE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDER ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR JEFFERSON STREET AREA RECONSTRUCTIONS, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 18-17

 

Background

The Public Hearing for the proposed improvement project was held on March 7, 2019, and the City Council ordered the preparation of plans and specifications. The construction project will reconstruct Jefferson Street from 119th Avenue to 104th Court and 104th Court from Jefferson Street to the cul de sac. 

 

Proposed improvements include installation of concrete curb and gutter and spot replacement of sidewalk, storm drainage improvements, spot sanitary service repair, raw water interconnect, spot water main repair, asphalt surface replacement, traffic control signage, and appurtenant construction. 

 

Plans and specifications have been prepared as directed and are available for Council review in the Engineering Department.

Recommendation

By motion, adopt the resolution.

 

Body

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 19-24 of the Blaine City Council, adopted on the 7th day of March, 2019, Plans and specifications have been prepared for Jefferson Street Area Street Reconstructions; and

 

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has presented such plans and specification to the City Council for their approval.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Blaine as follows:

 

1.                     Such plans and specifications, copies of which are filed in the Engineering Department, are hereby approved.

2.                     The City Manager shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper of the City an advertisement for bid for making of such improvements pursuant to the approved plans and specifications.

3.                     Such advertisement for bids shall call for sealed bids to be received in compliance with Notice of Contractor for the advertisement for bids.
