OVERNIGHT PARKING ORDINANCE

Background

Current City Code prohibits overnight parking between the hours of 2:00 am and 7:00 am between November 1^st and April 1^st on any highway, street, or alley within the city without an emergency parking permit.  Staff will present an overview of the ordinance and present various options for consideration.  This is an initial discussion on a section of the traffic code.  There will be additional sections presented for review in the future.

Recommendation

Staff recommendation is to keep the ordinance as it is, but change ordinance violations to a petty misdemeanor from a misdemeanor.
