APPROVE 2019 WATER TREATMENT CHEMICAL BIDS
Background
Staff received three bids for 2019 water treatment chemicals. The companies who submitted were DPC Industries Inc., Hawkins Inc. and Shannon Chemicals. Hawkins was the sole low bidder for all of the water treatment plant chemicals this year.
The chemicals are: Hydrofluorosilicic Acid, Chlorine, Polyphosphate, Zinc Orthophosphate, Sulfur Dioxide and Sulfuric acid 40%.
The total chemical bid from Hawkins for 2019 is $220,432.50. Last year’s total chemical bid was $206,151.00 for an increase of 14,815.00 from 2018 to 2019.
Recommendation
Staff recommends authorizing the purchase of the water treatment chemicals from Hawkins Inc. in the amount of $220,432.50.
