Title
APPROVE TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE FOR BLAINE BLOCK PARTY
Background
The City is hosting the Blaine Block Party (formerly called the City Open House) on September 26, 2018. To help facilitate a safe environment for the residents, it is proposed to close a portion of Town Square Drive and Park Drive in front of City Hall for the event. The closure will be from 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM on September 26, 2018.
A detour will be posted for to facilitate through traffic. The Parks Department will coordinate the closure with the City’s Public Works Department and Public Safety Department. Maps showing the proposed closures and detours are attached.
Recommendation
By motion, adopt the Resolution.
Body
WHEREAS, the Blaine City Council is cognizant of providing regulation of vehicular traffic in a safe and responsible manner, and
WHEREAS, the City Ordinance requires a City Resolution authorizing the temporary closure of public roads, and
WHEREAS, the temporary closure will not adversely affect traffic safety,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Blaine City Council as follows:
1. A temporary road closure is hereby authorized to be on Park Drive and Town Square Drive from 108th Lane to the South, for the Blaine Block Party between the hours of 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM, September 26, 2018.
