UPDATE ON BLAINE WETLAND SANCTUARY NEIGHBORHOOD MEETINGS

Background

The BWS Committee has held two meetings.  The first meeting entailed identifying locations for BWS maintenance access, setting a 40 foot buffer between private property lines that would be left untouched, and replacing trees that were taken down within the 40 foot buffer as part of the wetland restoration.

The second meeting concluded with scheduling a meeting with the City Council for one of the upcoming Workshops to request a $100,000 be allocated for landscaping along the maintenance access and the residential lots where trees were removed.  Also request that a 100’ buffer be required for any future trails north of Austin Ct.

The committee’s next meeting will be on-site to walk the area where trees were removed.  The date of the meeting is to be determined.
