SQUAD VIDEO REPLACEMENT CAMERAS
Background
In the adoption of the 2017 Capital Budget, Council appropriated the funding for certain pieces of equipment in the Capital Equipment Plan. Pursuant to the City Charter, Sec. 6.05, staff is now requesting City Council approval for the actual purchase of the squad video cameras. This is part of a scheduled replacement cycle of police squad video cameras (five cameras per squad) and this is the second year of a five-year replacement cycle. These cameras will be purchased through KELTEK Inc. (from the State contract).
Recommendation
By motion, approve expenditure of $37,725.50 for the squad video cameras from KELTEK Inc.
