Title

APPROVE PREMISES PERMIT FOR CHARITABLE GAMBLING FOR CENTENNIAL HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL BOOSTERS AT GREEN MILL, 4355 PHEASANT RIDGE DRIVE NE, BLAINE

Background

Candace Clark, Gambling Manager for Centennial High School Football Boosters, 4707 North Road, Blaine has submitted an application for a new premises permit to allow charitable gambling at Green Mill, 4355 Pheasant Ridge Drive NE, Blaine.  This is the Centennial High School Football Boosters only location at this time in the City of Blaine.

The Gambling Control Board may not issue a new premises permit for charitable gambling within a city unless a sponsoring organization obtains approval through a resolution from the City Council. A charitable gambling applicant has sixty (60) days from the date of their application to present such a resolution to the Gambling Control Board or otherwise forfeit their gambling activities.

The $250 investigation fee has been deposited with the City and the criteria set forth in Ordinance No. 88-1108 (regulating lawful gambling) has been met.  An investigation has been conducted by the Blaine Police Department on the gambling activity of Centennial High School Football Boosters and found nothing that would disqualify them from being approved.

Recommendation

Adopt resolution for a new premises permit to allow charitable gambling conducted by the Centennial High School Football Boosters at Green Mill, 4355 Pheasant Ridge Drive NE.
