RATIFICATION OF LOCAL 340 (POLICE SERGEANTS) 2017-2019 UNION CONTRACT

The City of Blaine and Police Sergeants have reached a tentative agreement on the following three year contract for 2017-2019. If approved, the contract would include the following adjustments:

2. An increase in the City’s monthly contribution to the cafeteria plan for the plan year 2017 of $50, making the monthly amount $1,140; an increase in the City’s monthly contribution to the cafeteria plan for 2018 of $50, which will make the monthly contribution $1,190; and an increase in the City’s monthly contribution to the cafeteria plan for 2019 of $50, which will make the monthly contribution $1,240.
3. An additional payment of $100 per month to employees assigned as use of force and/or firearms instructors.
4. Employees would receive two hours of stand-by pay if court is cancelled without a minimum of 24-hours’ notice.
5. An increase in the clothing allowance from $300 to $500 per year for both the Drug Task Force and Directed Operations Group Sergeants.
RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION
By motion, ratify the Police Sergeants Contract between the Law Enforcement Labor Services Local 340 and the City of Blaine for calendar years 2017-2019.
