FOGERTY ARENA SNOW PLOWING
Background
The Fogerty Arena Board of Directors is requesting that the City of Blaine do winter snow removal at the south parking lot at Fogerty Arena adjacent to the Sticks & Stones restaurant.
Prior to the construction of the Four Seasons Curling Arena and restaurant operated by Gabe’s, the City plowed the parking lots around Fogerty Arena. When the Curling Arena and restaurant opened the City Council discussed plowing the parking lots around Fogerty Arena.
The Council’s decision was to continue plowing the north lots adjacent to the ice rinks but require Fogerty to plow the south lot adjacent to the Curling Club and Gabe’s. The reasoning for this is that Gabe’s was a private business operating a restaurant open to the public that was competing with all the other restaurant businesses in Blaine.
This summer Gabe’s lease/contract expired and the Fogerty Board decided to operate the bar and restaurant themselves and renamed it Sticks & Stones. Because they as a non-profit are now operating the restaurant are requesting that the City plow the south parking lot adjacent to the restaurant.
