AUTHORIZE EXTENDED WORK HOURS FROM 6 AM TO 9 PM FOR THE UNIVERSITY AVENUE RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 10-09
Background
The general contractor on the University Avenue Reconstruction Project (Forest Lake Contracting) has requested an extension to the City of Blaine normal working hours (7 AM to 9 PM, Monday through Saturday) so they can begin work one hour earlier at 6 AM.
The earlier start time will provide an additional hour before rush hour where work can be done with significantly less traffic present.
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the Council, by motion, authorize work hours of 6 AM to 9 PM, Monday through Saturday, from June 19, 2015 to August 31, 2015 for Forest Lake Contracting and its subcontractors on the University Avenue Reconstruction Project, Improvement Project No. 10-09.
