APPROVE LIFT STATION #13 PUMP REPLACEMENT
Background
Lift station #13 is located on Naples Street and was constructed in 1984. One of the two pumps in the station that handles approximately one third (1/3) of the City's wastewater has failed. Staff has received two quotes for the replacement pump which are listed below.
W.W. Goetsch Associates Inc. $31,953.49
General Repair Service $35,980.54
Staff is recommending approving the low quote from W.W. Goetsch Assoc. Inc.
Staff has prepared the large dewatering pump for a backup in the event the other pump should malfunction. There are adequate funds in this year's budget for this expense. The remaining pump, with other amenities will be requested to be replaced or added with the 2014 capital requests.
Recommendation
By Motion, Approve the purchase of Lift Station #13 replacement pump to W.W. Goetsch Associates Inc. for $31,953.49 to be funded by the Sewer Utility Fund.
