TO FILL A VACANCY ON THE PARK ADVISORY BOARD
IN WARD 2
Background
Due to the resignation of David Schwarz on April 3, 2013 a vacancy of seven months of a two-year term (April 2012 - March 2014) exists on the Park Advisory Board in Ward 2.
Staff had advertised this summer for an open seat on the Park Advisory Board in the local newspaper, the city's web site, and local cable television. Three applicants expressed an interest in serving on the Park Advisory Board in Ward 2. The three applicants were interviewed on August 19, 2013.
The Mayor is announcing his appointment and the Council will be confirming the appointment of Christine Pribbernow at the same meeting. This will allow the newly appointed Park Advisory Board member to attend the September Park Advisory Board meeting and an opportunity to receive an orientation from the Parks and Recreation supervisor prior to her first meeting.
The newly confirmed appointee will receive her Oath of Office prior to or at the Park Advisory Board meeting which will be held on September 24, 2013.
Recommendation
A. Mayor announces the appointment of Christine Pribbernow to fill a vacancy on the Park Advisory Board in Ward 2 for a seven month term.
B. Motion by Council to confirm the appointment of Christine Pribbernow to the Park Advisory Board in Ward 2 for a seven month term.
