Title
AUTHORIZE PAYMENT FOR NEW HOLLAND TRACTOR REPAIR
Background
The New Holland tractor which is used for roadside mowing and snow blowing was in need of some major repairs after the winter season. The option of replacing or repairing the tractor was discussed during the 2013 budget season, with the recommendation of repairing the tractor. Replacing the tractor was estimated to cost $110,000.00. At that time the cost to repair the tractor was estimated at $25,000.00. The tractor was in for repairs earlier this spring and the invoice of $20,070.15 was received last week. Adequate funding exists in the 2013 Fleet maintenance budget to make the repairs.
As the amount of the invoice exceeds $10,000, staff is requesting Council approval for payment of the invoice.
Recommendation
City Council authorize payment for the New Holland Tractor repair to Titan Machinery for $20,070.15 to be funded from the Fleet Maintenance Contractual Repairs account.
