Title
APPROVE OPERATING AGREEMENT WITH RISE INC. FOR WORKER TO PERFORM CUSTODIAL SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF BLAINE FOR 2013
Background
Rise Inc. is an organization created to assist people who have disabilities and other employment barriers to help them gain self-sufficiency and belonging in their communities. For more than 20 years, the City has entered an agreement with Rise Inc. to provide a worker to the City for custodial services. The same person has been with Rise Inc. and working at City Hall for those entire 20 plus years.
This year the agreement calls to pay Rise Inc. $11.19 per hour for up to 20 hours per week. Rise Inc. and the employee are an independent contractor and not an employee of the City of Blaine. The estimated amount of this contract for 2013 will be less than $12,000 and is budgeted in our 2013 budget.
Recommendation
By motion, approve operating agreement with RISE Inc. for 2012.
