ACCEPTANCE OF DONATION FROM THE BLAINE FESTIVAL
Background
The City of Blaine may accept gifts for the benefit of its citizens in accordance with the terms prescribed by the donor. Minnesota Statute 465.03 requires that the City Council accept these gifts by resolution.
The Blaine Festival holds an annual City-wide celebration the last full weekend of June. The Blaine Festival is a strong supporter of City events and purchasing equipment to use at these events. The Blaine Festival is donating $15,100 to supplement the City’s inventory of picnic tables to be used at the Blaine Festival, other City events, and throughout the Blaine park system.
Recommendation
By motion, accept the donation and offer appreciation to the Blaine Festival.

WHEREAS, the City of Blaine has received a donation of $15,100 from the Blaine Festival to purchase 53 picnic tables, and
WHEREAS, the Blaine City Council is appreciative of this donation,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Blaine City Council acknowledges and accepts the donation of $15,100 with gratitude.
