Title

APPROVE 10% CONTINGENCY FOR THE WELLHOUSE

REHABILITATION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 16-22 IN THE AMOUNT OF $65,650

Background

Barr Engineering was selected through a Request For Proposal (RFP) process to provide professional services related to the rehabilitation of 10 wellhouses throughout the City.  The proposed fee and awarded value of the proposal was $656,500.00.

Standard practice has been to approve an additional 10% contingency funding on these projects to allow the City Manager or Director of Public Works to approve minor scope changes or additions to the project that come up in the course of doing the work.  Staff has encountered the need for a minor scope change and realized that no contingency was included with the award of this contract.

Staff is recommending that the City council now approve an additional 10% contingency funding in the amount of $65,650.00 for this project to cover minor contract amendments.

The project is funded through the Water Enterprise Fund.

Recommendation

By Motion, approve a 10% contingency funding in the amount of $65,650 for Project 16-22 Wellhouse Rehabilitation Engineering Services.
