Background

Both Lexington Athletic Complex and Town Square parks roofs sustained heavy damage from the hail last June. Our insurance company came out to survey the scene at both locations and we received approval to replace both of the roofs.  Since the project was estimated to be over $100,000, by statute we had to publish the work in the newspaper and put it out to any potential contractors. We had a sealed bid opening on March 6th with four contractors and the lowest bidder was Nordstrom Architectural Sheet metal at $219,200. Here is a list of the other bids.

All of the work will be covered by insurance money.

 

Recommendation

By motion accept the bid of $219,200 from Nordstrom Architectural Sheet Metal to replace the roofs at Lexington Athletic Complex and Town Square parks.
