AMEND 2019 CHARITABLE GAMBLING FUND BUDGET
Background
At the January 10, 2019 Workshop, the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) presented a request for a Charitable Gambling Fund donation. Council consensus was to award the CAP a $2,500 donation from the Charitable Gambling Fund and directed staff to bring forward an amended 2019 Charitable Gambling Fund Budget for consideration at a future Council Meeting.
Recommendation
By motion, approve the following resolution amending the 2019 Charitable Gambling Fund Budget.
Body
WHEREAS, a proposed Charitable Gambling Fund Budget for the fiscal year commencing January 1, 2019 was prepared by the City Manager and presented to the City Council on November 1, 2018; and
WHEREAS, the City Council examined, studied, and reviewed said Charitable Gambling Fund Budget and adopted it as presented; and
WHEREAS, there was no appropriation for the Civil Air Patrol at the time of adoption of the 2019 Charitable Gambling Fund Budget; and
WHEREAS, it is the Council’s desire to appropriate $2,500 in the 2019 Charitable Gambling Fund Budget to donate to the Civil Air Patrol; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has, after due consideration and deliberation, made said amendment and adjustment in the proposed Charitable Gambling Fund Budget as they consider necessary, desirable, or expedient.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Blaine that the 2019 Charitable Gambling Fund Budget be amended to include a $2,500 appropriation for the Civil Air Patrol and authorizes the City Manager to implement and administer, within the budgetary funding limits and within adopted City policy and relevant State and City laws and regulations, said amendment to the 2019 Charitable Gambling Fund Budget.
