AUTHORIZE REPLACEMENT OF CARPET IN CITY HALL IN THE AMOUNT OF $44,990
Background
Each year as part of the City Hall maintenance program a portion of the original carpet is being replaced. In 2017 the carpet replacement is taking place in Community Development, the Clover Leaf Conference Rooms, and the Police Department Roll Call Room. The City has received two quotes for this work:
The Schneider Company $44,745
St. Paul Linoleum & Carpet Co. $46,105(revised bid $44,990)
The City has budgeted $50,000 for carpet replacement in the 2017 Building Maintenance budget. Staff is recommending that the City accept the higher quote from St. Paul Linoleum & Carpet. The reason for this is that it will keep the same quality and style of carpet throughout the Police Department.
Recommendation
Authorize and enter into contract with St. Paul Linoleum & Carpet Co. to replace carpet in the amount of $44,990.
