ITEM: 5.1 AWARDS - PRESENTATIONS - ORGANIZATIONAL BUSINESS

EAGLE SCOUT TYLER DEAN PASK
Body
WHEREAS, the conferring of an Eagle Scout is one of the highest awards that can be bestowed upon a Boy Scout; and
WHEREAS, this award is earned in that the recipient must perform and successfully complete and pass the rigid requirements exacted to achieve an Eagle Scout award and only five percent of all Scouts achieve this goal; and
WHEREAS, it is also the desire of the City to encourage community groups and residents to take an active role in assisting the City in taking pride in enjoying its parks and open spaces by volunteering in efforts of beautification and cleanliness; and
WHEREAS, Tyler began his scouting career as a Tiger Scout in 1st grade at Jefferson Elementary in Blaine when he was six and transferred to Troop 522 when he was in 5th grade; and
WHEREAS, Tyler has earned 21 merit badges, 12 of which were required as well as others including Aviation, Cooking, Pet Care Music and Reading; and
WHEREAS, Tyler Pask will receive his Eagle Scout through Venture Crew 276, a Native American Dance Crew and has been an active den leader with pack 623 in Ramsey at Lord of Life church; and
WHEREAS, as his Eagle Scout Project Tyler Pask coordinated the making and delivery of twenty quilts for an organization called Quilts for Kids - an organization whose mission is "transforming fabrics into patchwork quilts that comfort children with life-threatening illnesses and children of abuse;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Blaine hereby proclaims Tyler Dean Pask an outstanding citizen and commends him for his hard work and extend their congratulations for having an Eagle Scout Award bestowed upon him by the Boy Scouts of America.
