Executive Summary

The City received a petition dated June 23, 2021 from Allison Morgan, representing AK Investments, Inc., requesting the vacation of the existing drainage and utility easements on Lot 1, Block 1, Blaine Square according to the recorded plat thereof, Anoka County, Minnesota, as shown in Exhibit A (attached).

 

Background

The property was originally platted as Lot 1, Block 1 Blaine Square. The property is being replatted as Blaine Square 2nd Addition; the current drainage and utility easement are being replaced with new drainage and utility easements with the new plat.  Engineering staff has reviewed the request and is in agreement with the vacation.

Body

WHEREAS, the City Council has received a petition dated the 23rd day of June, 2021, requesting vacation of the existing drainage and utility easements of Lot 1, Block 1, Blaine Square; and

 

                     WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has reviewed the petition and recommends that the City Council hold a Public Hearing on the requested vacation.

 

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Blaine as follows:

 

1.                     The Council will consider the petitioned vacation of easements for the property owner.

 

2.                     A Public Hearing shall be held on the proposed vacation at 7:30 PM on the 16th day of August, 2021 and the City Clerk shall give mailed and published notice of such hearing and vacation as required by law.
