AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF 2015 CAPITAL EQUIPMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $612,919.00
Background
Staff is requesting City Council approval for the purchase of capital equipment identified in the Capital Equipment Plan and budgeted for in 2015. All vehicles and equipment will be purchased from approved vendors through the State Cooperative Purchasing Program, or by a competitive quote process. The initial purchase of many of the items is the first step in preparing the vehicles or equipment for use. The truck chassis and the box and plow equipment will be purchased from separate vendors and are identified below. The budgeted amount in the 2015 Capital Equipment Plan includes the initial purchase, accessories, and excise tax on the vehicles. Ordering equipment now takes advantage of the current year's pricing.
