Title
APPROVAL OF CLASSIFICATION AND SALE OF TAX FORFEIT PROPERTIES WITHIN THE CITY OF BLAINE
Background
The Anoka County Board is commissioned by Statute to offer for sale tax forfeit properties in the County. The County Board approved Resolution No. 2017-112 on September 26, 2017, classifying certain tax forfeit lands in Anoka County, specifically three parcels in Blaine: PIN 09-31-23-13-0104; PIN 11-31-23-23-0072; PIN 11-31-23-23-0073.
Should the City desire to acquire any of these parcels of land, a request must be filed within sixty (60) days of the County’s notification. The County Board will then withhold the parcel from sale for six (6) months. If the City fails to acquire the property within the withholding period, the County may offer if for sale upon expiration of the withholding period.
After review with the Engineering Project Coordinator, the City is requesting that the following two parcels be withheld from public sale:
PIN 11-31-23-23-0072 is a parcel that the City is interested in ownership for storm water related purposes.
PIN 11-31-23-23-0073 is a parcel that the City is interested in ownership for storm water related purposes.
The Special Assessment Clerk has completed a search on the parcels listed above and there were no special assessments found.
Recommendation
By motion, authorize approval of the classification and sale to the City of Blaine of the above tax forfeit properties pursuant to M.S. §282.01, Subd. 1.
