AUTHORIZATION TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH TSP ARCHITECTURE FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONNECTED TO THE COMMUNITY CENTER PROJECT

Background

The next step for the Community Center Task Force in their process of looking at the possibility of a community center in the community is to engage a consultant to provide some assistance.  The areas that the Task Force is seeking assistance are, planning, design, cost estimation, operational costs and community engagement.  A RFP for consultant services was sent out in June and the Task Force received seven responses.  The Task Force then selected three finalists for interviews that were conducted on June 29^th.

The three firms interviewed were:

TSP Architecture, Minnetonka, MN

292Design Group, Minneapolis, MN

HKA Architects, Minneapolis, MN

Based on the proposals and the interviews the Task Force is recommending that the City Council enter into an agreement with TSP Architecture in the amount of $62,000 with expenses not to exceed $7,200.

The Task Force’s budget for this consultant is $75,000.

Recommendation

By motion, enter into an agreement with TSP Architecture for professional services in an amount not to exceed $62,000 with expenses not to exceed $7,200.
