2014 PROPOSED SPECIAL REVENUE FUND BUDGET - CHARITABLE GAMBLING

Background

This item was scheduled for the Council to review at the October 17 Workshop, but was postponed.

At the September 12 City Council Workshop, staff reviewed the 2014 Proposed Charitable Gambling Fund Budget with the Council.  Feedback from that meeting included Council requests to adjust the funding appropriations as follow:

·      Alexandra House - Add $10,000

·      Blaine Historical Society - $10,000 to be used for Blaine's 50^th Anniversary

·      Beyond the Yellow Ribbon - $5,000 to assist in 501(c)(3) incorporation

·      Creating Community - Unstated amount to be used for recognition of community volunteers

A revised 2014 Proposed Charitable Gambling Fund budget, incorporating the changes summarized above, is attached for Council review and discussion.  Per Council direction, staff will bring the budget back for formal adoption later in the year.

Discussion of the attached budget and programs supported by the proposed budgets.

Staff is looking for Council consensus regarding the proposed budgets.
