AUTHORIZE INSTALLATION OF REGULATORY SIGNS
WOODS AT QUAIL CREEK 2ND ADDITION
Background
With final platting of Woods at Quail Creek 2nd Addition, Alamo Street and Xylite Street become public right-of-way and construction of these streets require installation of appropriate traffic control. The Minnesota Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MMUTCD) provides specific warrants for which type of traffic control device may be installed. A stop sign is warranted on Alamo Street at its intersection with Xylite Street.
Recommendation
By motion, approve the resolution.
Body
WHEREAS, the City Council is cognizant of providing regulation of vehicular traffic in a safe and responsible manner; and
WHEREAS, City Ordinance requires a Council Resolution specifying the placement of regulatory signs; and
WHEREAS, the regulatory signs are considered to meet warrants for traffic control established in the Minnesota Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Blaine that regulatory signs are hereby authorized to be installed as follows:
1. Stop sign on Alamo Street NE at Xylite Street NE.
