LEXINGTON ATHLETIC COMPLEX UPDATE
Background
In September 2012, Carlson McCain was contracted as the project consultant for the Lexington Athletic Complex and has been meeting with City staff in developing a comprehensive plan for the park.
As expected, changes to the park plan have occurred since the City Council was last updated. A new concept plan has emerged resulting from wetland mitigation and options in site furnishings and park facilities are now being narrowed down for consideration. Also, with changes to the park plan the budget estimate has been updated.
Staff is will have a power point presentation outlining the updated park design and budget changes. The new concept plan is attached for Council's review.
Recommendation
DIRECTION:
· Is the City Council comfortable with the overall concept plan?
· Are there site furnishings or facilities City Council would like to add or remove?
· Does the City Council want to have staff move forward with the estimated budget or should adjustments be made?
· Should the City make more efforts with the Watershed District on delineation issues? Which may change the timeframe for this project.
