APPROVE PURCHASE OF 800MHz SQUAD RADIOS
Background
In the adoption of the 2014 Capital Budget, Council appropriated the funding for certain pieces of equipment in the Capital Equipment Plan. Pursuant to the City Charter, Sec. 6.05, staff is now requesting City Council approval for the actual purchase of the 800 MHz Squad Radios. These Squad Radios have been purchased through Anoka County Communications; this purchase was necessary to help facilitate squad builds which are currently in process. There has been an increase of $27.50 per radio from the time the Capital Request was submitted. Adequate funds exist in the Capital Fund to cover the additional cost.
