ADOPT 2016 CABLE TELEVISION BUDGET

 

Background

Staff presented a proposed 2016 Cable Television Fund Budget for discussion at the September 10, 2015 Council Workshop. Council reviewed the proposed budget and indicated their conceptual approval to the budget presented. A summary of the budget is as follows:

 

                     Franchise tax revenue is expected to remain flat at $170,800, while interest earnings are expected to decrease by $1,700 as a planned spend-down of reserves is expected to occur.

                     Budgeted operating expenditures are $129,000, a $3,060 (2.4%) increase above 2015 projected expenditures.

                     Planned capital expenditures include $50,000 for digital upgrades in the Council Chambers and Control Room.

 

Recommendation

By motion, adopt the attached resolution

 

Body

WHEREAS, the proposed Cable Television Fund Budget for the fiscal year commencing January 1, 2016 has been prepared by the City Manager; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council has examined, studied and reviewed said proposed Cable Television Fund Budget; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council has, after due consideration and deliberation, made such amendments and adjustments in the proposed Cable Television Fund Budget as they consider necessary, desirable or expedient;

 

 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Blaine City Council of the City of Blaine as follows:

 

1.                     That the proposed Budget for the Cable Television Fund attached hereto is approved.

2.                     That the 2016 appropriations attached hereto are approved.

3.                     That the 2016 funding sources identified and attached hereto are approved.

 

That the City Manager is authorized and directed to implement and to administer, within the budgetary funding limits and within adopted City policy and relevant State and City laws and regulations, said approved Cable Television Fund Budget.
