Title
ABATE ASSESSMENTS FOR DELINQUENT UTILITIES AND CERTIFY DELINQUENT UTILITIES FOR COLLECTION WITH ANOKA COUNTY
Background
On November 20, 2014, Council adopted Resolution 14-222 which certified delinquent utility bills for 2015 collection with Anoka County. Included in error with that certified list was an assessment for the parcel with PID 16-31-23-32-0141 for $703.08. It was subsequently discovered that previous years delinquent certifications (2011-2014) totaling $2,822.88 were also incorrectly certified to this property. The correct PID to be certified is Parcel 16-31-23-31-0106. The following resolution serves to abate the original, incorrect certifications to Parcel 16-31-23-32-0141 and establish the assessments for Parcel 16-31-23-31-0106.
Recommendation
By motion, approve the following resolution.
Body
WHEREAS, the records of the Public Utilities Billing Department list certain accounts as delinquent; and
WHEREAS, pertinent Minnesota Statutes authorize certification of the delinquent accounts to the County tax rolls for collection; and
WHEREAS, parcel 16-31-23-32-0141 was incorrectly identified as having delinquent utilities of $703.08 in 2014 and $2,822,88 for the years 2010-2013, the amounts of which were certified for collection with Anoka County; and
WHEREAS, parcel 16-31-23-31-0106 with delinquent utilities totaling $703.08 for 2014 and $2,822.88 for the years 2010-2013 were incorrectly left off the certification list sent to Anoka County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Blaine that following amount certified to the property with the legal description stated below be abated and removed from the assessment rolls adopted in years 2010-2014 inclusive:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Blaine that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to certify to the County Auditor the following amount on the property with the legal description of the premises served, as set forth below:
