APPROVE A NAME CHANGE FOR THE ICE HOUSE, DBA FOGERTY ARENA, INC., FROM GABE’S RINKSIDE BAR AND GRILL TO STICKS & STONES, 9250 LINCOLN STREET NE
Background
Robert Hall, current license holder and responsible party for The Ice House, dba Fogerty Arena is in the process of ending their management agreement with their onsite restaurant caterer, Gabe’s Rinkside Bar and Grill, in order to operate the restaurant themselves and re-open under the name Stick & Stones.
This request is for a name change of the business only and will apply to the on-sale intoxicating and Sunday liquor licenses currently held by both The Ice House, dba Fogerty Arena. This action does not involve a change of owners, corporate officers, responsible party or change of location of the business. Fogerty is currently in the process of hiring a new onsite manager who will undergo the background investigation as required by City Code once identified.
The Ice House, dba Fogerty Arena will assume management of the bar and restaurant effective May 27, 2016. They intend to close over the Memorial Day weekend to make some brand changes and will reopen on June 1 with a partial menu that meets City code with regard to food requirements but will evolve into a larger menu as they move toward their grand opening tentatively scheduled for June 21, 2016, as Stick & Stones. They also intend to make some seating arrangements and approval will be contingent upon a Certificate of Occupancy by the Building and Fire Inspections Departments.
The City has on file an updated certificate of liquor liability insurance as required by Statute that reflects the name change to Sticks & Stones which will be forwarded to the State Alcohol and Gambling Division once approved by Council.
Recommendation
By motion, approve the name change for The Ice House, dba Fogerty Arena from Gabe’s Rinkside Bar and Grill to Sticks & Stones.
