Background
The City of Blaine received a request on July 23, 2021, from Cyril Davis, representing Harley-Davidson, requesting temporary removal of parking restrictions on Ulysses Street from their south entrance to 98th Avenue and on 98th Avenue to their north entrance in order to allow parking on the street September 18, 2021. Harley-Davidson is hosting a classic car show and expect a need for additional parking to accommodate their customers. According to their special event application, there will be an estimated 75 classic cars on display and approximately 200 people in attendance.
Recommendation
Staff recommends authorization for temporary parking on Ulysses Street from their south entrance to 98th Avenue and on 98th Avenue to their north entrance as indicated on the attached map.
City Council authorization is required for the temporary lifting of parking restrictions. City Council has previously authorized similar temporary lifting of parking restrictions for Harley-Davidson events.
