Executive Summary
Council is requested to amend the 2022 Charitable Gambling Fund budget based on feedback from council workshop November 21, 2022.
Background
As part of the 2022 budget process, appropriations were made that were consistent with the best information available at the time of budget adoption in December 2021.
This resolution authorizes increased expenses of $27,500 to be distributed as follows:
• Beyond the Yellow Ribbon $2,500
• Way of the Lord food shelf $25,000

WHEREAS, Sound budgeting principles promote appropriating necessary funds required to accomplish approved objectives; and
WHEREAS, Sound budgeting principles also promote providing for contingencies and unforeseen emergencies so as to not prevent objectives from being met; and
WHEREAS, Appropriations were made in 2022 sufficient for anticipated activity; and
WHEREAS, actual activity and evolving priorities have resulted in expenditures exceeding budgeted appropriations in certain expenses in the Charitable Gambling Fund;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Blaine City Council amends the 2022 Charitable Gambling Fund Budget and authorizes the City Manager to implement these amendments to the budget as follows:
• Appropriate $2,500 to Beyond the Yellow Ribbon
• Appropriate $25,000 to Way of the Lord food shelf
