Executive Summary

Recording the official street name in the Willowbrook 4^th Addition.

Background

A portion of street originally platted in Willowbrook 4^th Addition as Lever Street NE as shown in the attached exhibit.  This created confusion with a parallel section of roadway to the west also named Lever Street NE.

This was reviewed in 2016 and determined that the street should be renamed Marmon St NE beginning at the east property line of Lot 5 Block 2 and Lot 3 Block 1, to the north property line of Lot 1 Block 2 and Lot 1 Block 1 of said plat. The name correction was chosen to align street names with the grid system and to prevent confusion with other existing streets platted in the same and surrounding neighborhoods. 

This action is necessary to officially recognize this change with the County recording system.

The affected homeowners received assistance to change addresses at a cost of $300 per parcel.

The adjacent homeowners were all contacted and individually worked with in 2010 when the street name change took effect.

WHEREAS, the north-south section of street in Willowbrook 4^th Addition, beginning at the east property line of Lot 5 Block 2 and Lot 3 Block 1, to the north property line of Lot 1 Block 2 and Lot 1 Block 1 of said plat, is known and signed as Marmon St NE;

WHEREAS, the street was platted as Lever Street NE in Willowbrook 4^th Addition by C.F. No 10-0015, approved on May 6, 2010;

WHEREAS, the portion of street beginning at the east property line of Lot 5 Block 2 and Lot 3 Block 1, to the north property line of Lot 1 Block 2 and Lot 1 Block 1 of Willowbrook 4^th Addition has been known by Marmon St NE since March 1, 2016;

WHEREAS, it is desirable to officially name Marmon Street NE beginning at the east property line of Lot 5 Block 2 and Lot 3 Block 1, to the north property line of Lot 1 Block 2 and Lot 1 Block 1 of Willowbrook 4^th Addition;

                      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Blaine City Council does hereby order the street opened as 123^rd Lane NE/Lever Street NE beginning at the east property line of Lot 5 Block 2 and Lot 3 Block 1, to the north property line of Lot 1 Block 2 and Lot 1 Block 1 of Willowbrook 4^th Addition is hereby named and designated MARMON STREET NE.
