Executive Summary

The City received a petition dated April 5, 2021 from Nathan Raich, representing NR Properties, Inc., requesting the vacation of the existing drainage and utility easements of Lot 4, Block 1, Mary and Jeffs First Addition; as shown in Exhibit A (attached).

Background

The property was originally platted as Lot 4, Block 1 of Mary and Jeffs First addition subdivision. This property will now be included as part of the new proposed subdivision known as Meadowland Estates. This vacation will run concurrent with the recordation of the new record plat for Meadowland Estates.  Engineering staff has reviewed the request and is in agreement with the vacation.

WHEREAS, the City Council has received a petition dated the 5th day of April, 2021, requesting vacation of the existing drainage and utility easements of Lot 4, Block 1, Mary and Jeffs First Addition; and

                     WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has reviewed the petition and recommends that the City Council hold a Public Hearing on the requested vacation.

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Blaine as follows:

1.                     The Council will consider the petitioned vacation of easements for the property owner.

2.                     A Public Hearing shall be held on the proposed vacation at 7:30 PM on the 17th day of May, 2021 and the City Clerk shall give mailed and published notice of such hearing and vacation as required by law.
