Title
AUTHORIZE TEMPORARY REMOVAL OF PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON 91ST AVENUE, 92ND AVENUE, 92ND LANE AND BALTIMORE STREET TO ACCOMMODATE LETTERMEN SPORTS TENT SALE ON JUNE 12-15, 2014

Background
The City of Blaine received a request on May 21, 2014, from Katelyn Bokinskie, National Team Sales Manager for Lettermen Sports, requesting temporary removal of parking restrictions on 91st Avenue, 92nd Avenue, 92nd Lane and the west side of Baltimore Street in order to allow parking on those streets June 12-15, 2014.  Lettermen Sports is hosting a Tent Sale that weekend and expects a need for additional parking to accommodate their customers.

Staff recommends authorization for temporary parking on the west side of Baltimore Street and both sides of the three additional streets as indicated on the attached map.

City Council authorization is required for the temporary lifting of parking restrictions.  City Council previously authorized similar temporary lifting of parking restrictions for Lettermen Sports 2012 and 2013 Tent Sales.

Recommendation
By motion, authorize the temporary removal of parking restrictions on both sides of 92nd Avenue cul-de-sac east of Baltimore, 91st Avenue and 92nd Lane between Baltimore and Davenport Streets, and the west side of Baltimore Street between 91st Avenue and 92nd Lane, from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, June 12-15, 2014.

By motion, authorize the Safety Services Manager to modify the temporary parking if needed for the safety of the industrial park property owners, traveling public and contractors.
