CONSENT AGENDA - Jean M. Keely, City Engineer
Title
105TH AVENUE EASEMENT ACQUISITION, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 14-11
Background
As part of the original design of 105th Avenue, a southbound right turn lane was added to Davenport Street at 105th Avenue. This turn lane will add efficiencies in the operation of the intersection. This turn lane will go beyond the existing right-of-way and requires the purchase of a permanent easement. Also required with the project is the creation of a storm water pond to meet requirements for storm water management. Again, the original design placed a storm pond at the northwest corner of 105th Avenue and Davenport Street and will need to be placed within a drainage and utility easement. The city hired the Madsen Group, Inc. to appraise the property and set the values of these easements. The attached documents show the values of these easements and the parcel sketch of the easement areas.
The project budget accounted for easement acquisition and there are sufficient project funds to acquire these easements.
Recommendation
By motion, authorize the Mayor and City Manager to acquire permanent and temporary easements from the property owner, Blaine Land, LLC., in the amount of $290,330.96.
