APPROVE CONSTRUCTION PLANS FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF BALL ROAD FROM LEXINGTON AVENUE TO APPROXIMATELY 2500 FEET EAST
 
Background
On January 16, 2014 City Council was presented with a Preliminary Plat and Conditional Use Permit for the proposed Wal-Mart on Ball Road.  The item was tabled and rescheduled to continue at a special City Council meeting on February 13, 2014.  At this meeting the City Council approved preliminary plat and the Conditional Use Permit with a condition that Council review and approve the design and construction plans for reconstruction of Ball Road from Lexington Avenue to the east edge of the Wal-Mart plat, approximately 2500 feet.
 
An open house was held for the residents of the Belmont Acres plat on May 6, 2014 giving them an opportunity to review the construction plans and ask questions.  A summary of the open house will be provided when Council considers this item on May 15, 2014.
 
Recommendation
By motion, approve the resolution.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has received and reviewed construction plans submitted by Wal-Mart Corporation's engineering consultant MFRA for the reconstruction of Ball Road from Lexington Avenue to approximately 2500 feet east; and
 
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has presented such plans to the City Council recommending their approval.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Blaine as follows:
 
1.      Such construction plans, a copy of which is filed in the City Engineer's office, are hereby approved.
