APPROVAL OF CONTRACT WITH WALTERS RECYCLING AND REFUSE FOR RECYCLING, GARBAGE, AND YARDWASTE SERVICES FROM JANUARY 1, 2016 TO JUNE 30, 2021
Background
At the June 11, 2015 City Council Workshop, the Council directed staff to proceed with a Request for Proposals for garbage, recycling, and yardwaste services to begin on January 1, 2016 for 5 ½ year period of time. The City received four proposals from Advanced Disposal, Republic Services, Walter’s Recycling and Refuse and Waste Management.
City Staff presented information to the City Council regarding evaluation of the proposals at the August 6, 2015 City Council Workshop. Walters Recycling and Refuse had the lowest cost proposal. The Council directed staff to negotiate a contract with Walters Recycling and Refuse based on the information presented in the Request for Proposals.
Recommendation
Approve the recycling, garbage, and yardwaste contract with Walters Recycling and Refuse.
