Title
INCREASE STORMWATER UTILITY FEE
Background
At their December 20, 2012 meeting, Council adopted the 2013 Stormwater Utility Enterprise Fund Budget which included spending adjustments reflecting an increase of $1 per quarter Residential Equivalency Factor (REF), effective January 1, 2013. The following resolution confirms the fee increase, and the increase will be added to the fee schedule.
Recommendation
By motion, approve the resolution.
Body
WHEREAS, at the November 29, 2012 Council Workshop, Council reached consensus to increase the base Stormwater Utility Fee by $1 per quarter, or $4 per year, and directed staff to make corresponding adjustments to the 2013 Stormwater Operating Budget; and
WHEREAS, said 2013 Stormwater Utility Enterprise Fund Budget was prepared to reflect the proposed increase of $1 per quarter in the base Stormwater Utility Fee; and
WHEREAS, on December 20, 2012, the City Council, after due consideration and deliberation, making amendments and adjustments in the Stormwater Utility Enterprise Fund Budget as they considered necessary, desirable, or expedient, adopted said budget for the fiscal year commencing January 1, 2013, via Resolution No. 12-166; and
WHEREAS, The Blaine City Fee Schedule adopted by Council on December 21, 2012, did not reflect the $1 per quarter increase in the base Stormwater Utility Fee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Blaine as follows:
1. That the fee adjustment of $1 increase per quarter in the base Stormwater Utility Fee reflected in the 2013 Stormwater Utility Enterprise Fund Budget is hereby approved effective January 1, 2013 and shall be included in the City's fee schedule.
