Executive Summary
Approve the purchase of a CAT 310 Mini Hydraulic Excavator as listed in the 2021 Capital Equipment Fund.
Background
In the adoption of the 2021 Water Utility Fund Capital Budget, Council appropriated funding for certain pieces of equipment in the Capital Equipment Plan. Pursuant to the City Charter, Sec. 6.05, staff is now requesting Council approval for the purchase of the equipment listed below. This equipment had been listed in information provided to the City Council during budget discussion work sessions, and approval was included in the final adoption of the 2021 budget.
The CAT 310 Mini Hydraulic Excavator will be purchased through the State Cooperative Purchasing Program from Ziegler CAT. The State Cooperative Purchasing Program meets all requirements for competitive bidding.

The amount shown above is the net cost of the equipment after deducting the trade-in allowance of $28,000 for the machine being replaced, a 2006 John Deere mini excavator.
There is sufficient savings in other previous Water Fund purchases to cover the difference in budget vs. final actual cost.
